On the outskirts of North East rests the crown jewel of racing in the whole of Erie County. The Lake Erie Speedway offers entertainment for every racing or crashing enthusiast in the family. This summer, the speedway is hosting many events; some of which branch outside of the world of racing to bring a wider variety of family fun to the speedway. Some of these events include the Great Lakes Pro-AM Series, the Summer MatsErie: Christmas in July edition, and the Bubble Run.
The Great Lakes Pro-AM Series spans from May 30th until September 19th. This event consists of four rounds of “high excitement Tandem competition” and will pick up with Round Two on August 14th, followed by Round Three August 15th, and the final round on September 19th. Tickets are available for purchase now. You won’t want to miss out!
Near the end of July, the speedway will host a Three Days of Drifting with Drift PAOHNY. This Christmas in July event will take place July 24th from 3 pm – 11:30 pm, July 25th from 11 am – 11:30 pm, and July 26th from 11 am – 4 pm. This event consists of 25 + hours of real track time and will take place rain or shine.
Lastly the Lake Erie Speedway will host the Bubble Run on August 1st. This 5K involves running through different colored foam to coat participants in non-toxic and eco-friendly bubbles. The race is stroller and wagon friendly and runners are encouraged to wear sunglasses and bring a towel and even an extra pair of shoes. Enjoy the after party with a live DJ, vendors, and a constant flow of bubbles.
