Home (Not So Far Away) From Home

Out-of-towners are welcomed back into North East with the help of the Brickyard Inn. This historic house, nestled on the corner of Route 20 and Brickyard Road, is ideal lodging for every type of visitor. Owned and operated by Deb Phillips, this inn has more to offer than just a few cozy beds.

The house was originally built in 1920, making it more than 100 years old and rich in history. It was important to Deb to ensure that the home’s original details still shone through. “I think we’ve made enough updates but retained the historic character of the house, so that you feel like you’re living in a space that has life to it,” Phillips shared. These details include a functioning central fireplace, original wood floors sanded by hand, antique and period-appropriate furnishings, and more.

The Brickyard Inn functions as a sanctuary for first-time visitors and returning North East natives alike. “We hope people who lived in North East, who went away and came back, whether they’re visiting family, or they want to go to Wine Fest, or whatever else might be going on; this is the place. You’re coming back home to North East, and you can stay right here,” Phillips said.

New this season, the Brickyard Inn is part of a significant advertising campaign shown at every Erie SeaWolves home game, sharing a little bit of North East’s country charm with the city of Erie. For more information and to book your stay, visit thebrickyardinn.com.
